Gambia decentralises biometric ID system

The Gambia Biometric Identification System (GAMBIS) was on Thursday launched in the Kanifing Municipal Area as the authorities work toward extending it to all regional capitals for easy access to the new identification card.

Gambia, US sign MOU on trade

Trade investment – A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the promotion of bilateral trade and investment was signed here Friday between the US Embassy in Banjul and The Gambia.
The MOU was signed by the Embassy, the Ministry of Trade Industry and Employment, Trust Bank Limited and Eco Bank Gambia Limited.

Woman jailed for killing husband

A young African woman has been jailed for life in the Gambia after being convicted of murdering her wealthy British husband, police have said.
